S1 Main Field Renovations

Our S1 Field is our main field and is located near Goff Middle School on Gilligan Road as part of the baseball/softball complex that also hosts East Greenbush Castleton Little League and the East Greenbush Girls Softball League. It is the lone game-ready 60 foot – 90 foot baseball field at the complex.

A major overhaul was completed during the last few months of 2022 including the following:

• New Infield: Sorensco was committed to this project and was delighted when the school step in offering to help fund the project. Together we: put down all new sod in the infield, brand new pitchers mound, new home plate and batter’s box, custom
  bases, right field drainage, and upgraded our seven sprinkler zones. No doubt about it our players will be stepping onto one of the best, if not the best, fields in the Capital region.
• Overseeding the outfield: why stop with the infield. We hired the same company to aerate, fill and seed the outfield so next spring our players have a plush outfield.
• Amanda’s Fire Place batting cage: our new batting cage is located off third base near the woods. Keller Construction built our new pad, Greco Construction installed the mounting poles and Amanda Fireplace funded the project.. Now we have a secondary batting cage, in the shade.

Additional Improvements

Several other improvements have been completed.

• New fryer in the kitchen: Yes that is why the already delicious concession food tasted even better. This past summer we purchased a new fryer. 
• New freezer:  On those hot summer days a frosty treat helps cool off our players or their family members.
• New grinder pump: Not as exciting as the previous entries but exceptionally helpful to know all our plumbing is working well.
• New garage door:  A new garage door was added to the main building.
